Pohjola the bottom of the World

In Finnish language ancient cosmology has survived. Northern hemisphere was not thought to be the top of the world but instead the bottom.

Modern words:

Pohjoinen = North
Pohjan tähti = North star
Pohja = Bottom

so literally translated

Pohjoinen = Direction of the bottom
Pohjan tähti = Star of the bottom

Remember that ancient civilizations orginated from the southern hemisphere. Finnish language has some very old words.

In Finnish mythology:

Pohjan Akka, Louhi, Loviatar = Lady of the bottom

Lovi = under world = transcendental state of mind = being high

Falling into lovi = shamanic visionary trip = going to the under world

Pohjola, Lovi = The underworld

Seems that christianity turned the old mythology upside down. Gods became demons, and literally top became bottom. And previously holy places became unholy.
